Small startups are cautious about welcoming new members, especially college student interns. It is difficult to define roles and responsibilities for interns with no prior work experience, and there is also the pressure to share a positive experience, given that they are spending their valuable college years with our organization.
It was the same when Elifunt welcomed its first college student intern, Chaerim, in December 2025. We had various concerns, such as whether she would be a good fit for the Elifunt team and what kind of work we could entrust to her. However, Chaerim adapted so quickly that our worries were unfounded, and she is already leaving Elifunt to return to school. We looked back on the short yet impactful three months that Chaerim and Elifunt spent together.
At a startup internship for college students, you can learn more and achieve results commensurate with your efforts
Q. Chae-rim, it’s already time to say goodbye. (Tears) First, please introduce yourself.
Hello, I am Chae-rim Yuk, and I worked as an intern at Elifunt for three months. Although my internship has ended due to returning to school, it was a time when I was able to learn and experience so much in such a short period!

Q. Elifunt is not your first company, Chae-rim, and you previously worked at a large corporation, right? I imagine there were many differences. What was it like?
Just before this, I worked as a content production assistant at Company N. At the time, I mainly communicated with only one supervisor, and my role involved performing repetitive tasks within a large project. While it was good to learn how to write sales content from a customer's perspective and understand platform service operation processes, I was disappointed that my authority was limited and access to analytical tools was restricted.
At Elifunt, the atmosphere allowed me to participate much more proactively in various client projects and offer my opinions. If I had experienced the systematic systems at a large corporation, my three months at Elifunt were an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing projects alongside strong teamwork.
Q. Elifunt is a B2B marketing agency rather than a B2C one, and as a small startup, I imagine it wouldn't have been easy to apply for a university student internship. What motivated you to apply?
I actually applied because I prefer small startups. Even if you work as an intern at a large corporation, you often end up doing only simple tasks, like carrying packages or organizing Excel spreadsheets. I was also disappointed that the scope of work was so narrow when I actually experienced the work at a large company.
Conversely, I decided that while small startups are less systematized, that could actually be an advantage. expected to learn more and achieve results commensurate with the effort I put in.
I experienced the A to Z of B2B marketing at Elifunt
Q. I remember when you came for the intern interview, Chaerim. At that time, you mentioned that you wanted to experience the diverse tasks of a marketer as a university student intern. Was there a difference between the work you expected and the actual work?
Before joining the company, I only knew that it was a B2B marketing firm that created text content for clients. I only knew the concepts of SEO and GEO, and I didn't know how to use analytics tools like GA. I also didn't realize how significant the difference was between B2B marketing and B2C marketing.
In my actual work experience, what was appealing was the opportunity to handle client marketing projects from strategic planning to performance analysis. In addition to client projects, I gained experience with various sub-projects and was able to directly perform tasks such as keyword research and content planning.
💝 What kind of company is Elifunt, a B2B content marketing group?
Elifunt is a team that designs a structure connecting B2B content marketing strategy, execution, and analysis, and continuously manages content within that structure . If you are curious about what the Elifunt team does, please check out the content “What Kind of Company Is Elifunt? (Ask Me Anything!)”.
Q. You actually gained a wide range of experience at Elifunt in a short period of time. Among them, what is the most memorable experience?
Looking back, I have truly experienced a wide variety of tasks. From SEO content creation and planning to on-site support for offline seminars, client meetings, YouTube filming and editing, and newsletter writing, I’ve really tasted a diverse range of work.

Among the many tasks, the schema markup work stands out in my memory. I was initially flustered when I received unfamiliar code and a structured file, but with the help of the Elifunt team members and the use of AI, I was able to successfully draft a preliminary version.
even if it was a task I had never done before, if I just dive in, I can achieve something. Now that my understanding of schema markup has improved, created a program using VIVE Coding that allows for easy schema markup generation.

Working on YouTube content was also fun. It was enjoyable to see immediate results, and I could feel my growth as I watched the content I created get uploaded to the channel and rack up views.

Q. Looking back, are there any parts where you felt, “I could have done better, so it’s a shame”?
I regret that I lacked understanding of the client's industry during the content creation process . It seems that I often ended up covering only the surface. On one occasion, I participated in an interview with a developer from the client, but because the programming language was unfamiliar to me, it was difficult to understand immediately. I feel a sense of regret that if I had a better understanding of the industry, I could have created more in-depth content.
Copywriting was also an area where I felt I could improve. When writing YouTube thumbnails or content titles, I need to write catchy copy, but perhaps because I lack that kind of creativity, I found it difficult. It also seems that copy generated by generative AI still lacks the sensitivity of human-written copy. When I drafted my content, my team members would offer ideas like, "How about this?" and that was very helpful.
What a college student intern says about the Elifunt Team? “It is dense, proactive, and challenging.”
Q. I think Elifunt is a very dense organization. So, I was actually a bit worried when I heard that a college student intern was joining. How did you feel about Elifunt's work culture, Chaerim?
I definitely felt the workload was high. That is because we plan and execute not only B2B marketing for clients but also in-house marketing. However, even though my team members worked at a high intensity, I think they tried to adjust the pace to be just right for me as an intern. (Laughs)
Q. You came into the office for a month to adjust to the team, and then worked almost entirely remotely for the remaining two months. How was your experience working remotely?

To be honest, when I first saw the internship posting, I was really tempted by the fact that remote work was possible. After all, when it comes to remote work, you naturally think, "This sounds like a sweet deal." (Laughs)
But after actually experiencing it, I understand why Elifunt is an organization where collaboration works so well even with remote work. Everyone has a high sense of responsibility, which leads to high concentration on work, and there is a culture of constantly sharing tasks and giving and receiving feedback. Sometimes, requests for "hurdles" come up suddenly in the middle of work. You could say it is an environment where you have no choice but to stay glued to your desk, even while working remotely.
But I think I actually liked it because the workload was high. As a college student intern, I wanted to experience as much work as possible, and I found it harder when time just drags on without work.
👀 Is working from home really the best option?
Elifunt operates a remote work system four times a week. We only come into the office one day a week. However, that does not mean it is an easy organization to work in. We work with deep immersion to make up for the time saved on commuting. If you are curious about the reality of working from home at Elifunt, “What are the characteristics of a company where remote work is possible?: A Mid-level Marketer’s 3-Month Retrospective at.
Q. I am also curious about the ideal candidate profile for the Elifunt Team that you have observed while working with Elifunt for three months, Chaerim. What kind of person would be a good fit for the Elifunt Team?
I feel that people like this would be a great fit for Elifunt!
- Someone who can start without fear, even in a completely unfamiliar field
- Those who want to experience work in various industries, even indirectly
- Someone who can immerse themselves in their work responsibly, even without being monitored
- Someone who takes pleasure in outputting 2 when receiving 1 unit of work
Elifunt has a culture of constantly exchanging new ideas and trying new things, so I think it would be a good fit for someone who wants to work proactively and grow.
If you want to experience everything B2B content marketing has to offer, apply to Elifunt!
Q. You are ending your internship due to returning to school. What kind of career would you like to pursue next?
I am currently a student in the Department of Media Studies. I would like to gain experience in-house performance marketing before entering the workforce. I am curious about the practical aspects of the advertising field that I learned about in my undergraduate courses, and I also want to engage in marketing based on my loyalty to and deep understanding of brands.
I want to make a career out of text content, but I'm struggling to decide where to do it. These days, most content marketing is video-based, but I feel like writing suits me better than video editing. I'm trying to figure out which industry, company, or role would be best to choose if I want to work primarily in writing.
Q. Do you have any words you would like to leave for the Elifunt team?
Thanks to you, I have opened up a new dimension of marketing and gained a broader perspective. thank my team members for teaching me the A to Z of B2B marketing.
To be honest, everyone on the Elifunt team felt more like a mentor than a boss. It was so cool to see them constantly striving to learn and grow in a field like GEO marketing, where formulas aren't yet established. As an undergraduate with so much to learn, I was greatly inspired by them!
Q. Lastly, do you have any words for the intern who will follow in your footsteps?
If you have decided on a career in marketing, I highly recommend it. It will help you establish a concrete direction for your marketing career. Unfortunately, I had to leave the Elifunt team early due to returning to school, but it would be good to gain experience for at least six months . SEO marketing takes time to see actual results, and seeing those results makes you want to do even better.
also important to actively ask questions and make suggestions. Since there is likely a lot you don't know, you should ask many questions, and it is also a good idea to suggest, "How about we try this as well?" Everyone will welcome any opinion you offer! When working on client projects, I think it would be even better to study the industry alongside your work.
B2B marketing may be an unfamiliar field for college interns aspiring to be marketers, so you might feel hesitant, but please do not feel pressured as the instructors will teach you very well. I hope you learn a lot and grow before you leave!
